Day 3 of the WCG Command and Conquer 3 Grand Final will be remembered as a day full of spectacular upsets and surprises, as well as some of the finest C&C3 triumphs. Today the entire single-elimination tournament was played out, with the exception of the final match.
Single-Elimination
Round 16 was probably the most predictable of all the outcomes, with the one toss-up game set played between khufu_ownz (USA) and aRRR (The Netherlands) going to aRRR's favor 2-1. Khufu_ownz played Nod during the first game, which was on the Small Town USA map, against aRRR's Scrin. After his initial victory, he switched to Scrin, and was defeated on Tournament Arena. aRRR won the tie-breaker on Tournament Dustbowl against khufu's Nod to clinch victory and move forward.

However, aRRR's victory was short-lived: The replacement player from Germany (-XeoNeQ-, who had placed 2nd in the German Qualifiers, decided last minute to not attend WCG), Xeon, dispatched aRRR's medal chances with a (2-0) victory. Another totally surprising upset came in the form of 101010101's (scorspammer.exe, USA) fall to Brossea (Switzerland) 2-0.

Finals
Xeon and Apollooo sent their opponents to the 3rd/4th place match in 2-0 victories
For third place, Dackel beat Brossea 2-0 and will take $3,000 for his efforts. Congratulations to both players for making the top four!
Tomorrow Xeon will face off against Apollooo for the title of champion. Both of these players have gone undefeated in the single-elimination tournament (each match-up is a best of three games), so it will be interesting to see how they fare against each other. The winner is to take home a $12,000 check and 2nd place to walk away with $5,000. Good luck to both!
