Due to the Dutch WCG stuff happening on the 23-24th I have decided to host a nice small tournament instead of the monster extravaganza that I had planned. The gigantic tournament will probably still take place, but shall be looking at that closer to July. For now, lets kick things off with a nice friendly little cutthroat deathmatch.
Registration Registration is open as of now. So reply to this thread to reserve your place. I will edit your posts with a [Registered] tag starting Monday as I am away over the weekend. If you don’t think you can make it, don’t apply. Any drop outs will be filled on the day, so if you don’t get in first, you may get in on the day.
Date : Saturday 23rd of June
Time : 21:00 GMT
Number of Players : 32
Format : 4 Rounds of Single Elimination, followed by a best of three finals.
Prizes: As well as being slavishly adored by the GR community, the winner of the tournament will receive a medal and a custom made signature showing what they won.
The best replay of the tournament will be polled by all players who took part, plus staff, and the players in that replay will also receive a reward. Nominations for best replay can be made by any competitor in the tournament. You may vote for your own replay.
Coverage: All replays will be made available for download after the tournament is over.
Hey there everyone! The first GR CnC3 Tournament will be taking place on the weekend of June 23-24. The time has not yet been finalised, but I shall have it posted in the next couple of days.
A few details so far though,
Players - There shall be 16 players in the tournament.
Type - The tournament shall be a single elimination format, you lose, you're out. The final two players will have a best of three to find our first winner.
Map - Each round will take place on differnet map. The order of maps will be released closer to the day.
Sounds mint.
Will it be first-come-first-served, or invite only? Sixteen doesn't sound like a lot to be honest.
if there are 128 players max then 1 mod sounds like its not enought to be honest, also in this weekend of 23-24 june the dutch WCG kicks off in Rotterdam so many top dutch players may not have the time to play in this 1. btw where do u sign up? is there a portal to sign up?
Sign-ups will be available closer to the date. This tournament will be the first of many, so if people aren't available that weekend, there will be more opportunities. Whilst I will be coordinating, the full CnC3 staff will be working to make this a successsful tourney
I'm in! And as I'll probably be the first out due to some stupid mistake like not seeing an engineer (EVERY good player I play regularly against has done this to me at least once) or something, I'll review some of the replays too. =)
Since it's now 128 players, andnot a lot ofplayers can sit at their comp for like 1 hours, can we do it on different days?
As we are unsure of numbers etc, I am still working out the best way of doing things. If we do end up with a huge number of players registering then the first 3-4 rounds might take place on day 1, with the last 3-4 taken care of the next day. Full details should be posted by Monday, but never fear, I am working on it
Only staff commenting so far, spread the word over the next week or so guys, as many members as possible will make it as successful as possible (up to a max of 128, of course )
