a good replay,

i'm an old friend of this guy and i know hes a good player,

i would suggest sending gollum to get your mills because hes faster than orcs and sending 1 orc towards the middle to see if he comes through with his soldiers.

theres some small things we can work on based on this replay.

Hi grish,

atm I'm not so busy with school, but that can change from one minute to the other^^

I'd like to know some BOs vs Gondor and Rohan which include harads, if possible for the map Fords of Isen.

hi grish,

I had a look at the replays and tried your start vs Gondor in a game yesterday, which worked pretty well. I killed the warg lair got all the money and lured the wargs to his soldiers so my mill wasn't even close to get destroyed. Then I build 2 harads for creeping and was able to build one OP with harads on top. This gave me an uber economy so I had 3 naz out pretty fast, followed by 2 cages and then 2 siegworks at an outpost with full MC. Unfortunately I diconnected when it came to sieging and I forgot to rename the "Last Replay"-rep so I can't show you the game unfortunately. I've still got one question about this start: What happens if the soldiers go through the middle? They will surely kill the mill closer to your base then, won't they?

Other than that, I played a game vs Isen and lost pretty bad. A MU in which I'm normally not bad. I didn't think about saving the replay for the mentor program unfortunately (I know, how stupid frusty.gif frusty.gif ) but some small general advice vs Isen would be appreciated. (e.g.: How many pits? When build up 2nd or 3rd pit?)

That's it for now smile.gif

Hi Min

You make extra labourers from your first mill and send one straight to the middle then you will see the soldiers coming this way,

you will have gollum, one/two orcs from your pit and the two orcs that killed the warg lair and wargs (one level 3) ,

they can all help you keep that mill alive.

i use this army and make 5 extra labourers from that mill for use in attacking the soldiers and repairing the mill.

Heres a question for you.....

what would you like to do? spend 100 gold on the 5 labourers or spend 200 gold on having to make a new mill?
.
ISENGARD ON FORDS OF ISEN..... can be a nightmare.

i need to see a replay or i need to work online with you on this one,

can you play someone and post it for me?

but generally you need to combine attacking with defending to a very good standard,
make an extra pit after your two mills,
dont even think about creeping until you have harrased him properly.
people say make furnaces and nazgul but that takes a lot of money,
this is just a race between you getting a nazgul or him getting blades,
i would rather make trolls first.

To improve your learning process, it is suggested to participate in GR's Isengard Vs Gondor tournament.

This might be interesting for the mentor as well. smile.gif

Hi grish,
I found another problem of my mordor when I played a game vs Peak yesterday: seiging.

I read this in Ryze's topic:

QUOTE
Ryze and me had a good 2 hour session online last night going through every aspect of seiging.

from the use of catapaults to

trolls use,
mumakil use,
wk and nazgul use,
how to start your seige
fending off any attacks on your seige army,
what to make and when to make it,

Maybe you could write the most important points in here, in case we don't meet online.

Here is the rep vs Peak. I won eventually but I have the feeling that the game should've been twice as short if I had sieged properly.

Btw, I didn't use your start vs FoL because I miswallchecked, I thought he was FoD while he was Gondor.

Hi Mate

wow ! this was a really long game but i have to say that i enjoyed watching it biggrin.gif

Your trolls breaking his walls and nearly finishing him was the highlight of this game,
also using skulls on your catapaults which most mordors seem to forget about.

you should have buried him from here but the problem for you was what to make and when,

you play a lot like me but tend to do things a little later,
i will tell you what i saw in the game and you can maybe print it out and watch it again while you read what i have said.....

when you had sent your first destructive troll army in i would have switched to mumas very quickly as he had very little map control and money to rebuild, also he had no walls.,

always get 2 drummer trolls, make them group 2 and watch them to make sure they are walking near your trolls,

the only danger he had at one stage was horses,
you should have put some trolls around the map and used wk on the horses only,

dont forget to keep making orcs lol,
but dont worry about this, ive seen all mordor players do it.

mumakil pens have to go in your main base,
they cost too much money to risk making one at an exposed outpost,
put it next to your troll cage at the back and leave one troll there to guard it.

Drummers have to go with your mumakil when you attack to give the archers leadership,
and dont forget to use your eye mate,
drummers, mumakill with fire on top, eye,wk,darkness, 2 naz are a really powerful combination that would have owned him if you had used them all together.
as long as there are no trebs dont worry about any amount of archers or gandy when you have an army like this.

there was one stage of the game when he had only 3 archers on top of his gate with a statue,
sending wk in front, swoop on each batt with all your 3 nazguol would have put him in a bad situation even if all the nazgul had died,
you can get them back for free but he would have lost 3 very valuable non replaceable archer batts.

a camping gondor will get eagles, thats one thing thats usually guarenteed,
stop making trolls and catas now, only drummers and mumakil = useless eagle summons.

at this stage you was 7 points from a balrog and peak was well behind you,
get an extra pit and spam them all his base.

keep an eye on the map mate,
the only thing keeping him alive was a level 3 farm in the bottom middle that you never killed,

when you have full map control sell all your mills and make slaughterhouses instead,
put your labourers into the slaughterhouses and this will give you about 30+ extra command points to use for your seiging.

After your first balrog use (if you dont kill all of his base) all you have to do is choke his economy.
send a nazgul with a mumakil to all the 3 crossings on the map to stop any hit and run tactics and wait for your balrog to respawn,
he wont be able to keep rebuilding his base with no money biggrin.gif

i hope this helps a little but please ask if you dont understand any of it.
