Give auto berth to the players who has top 3-4 spots in the previous tournaments after this one. First come first serve is a good thing which gives everyone equal chance of participation. However all tournaments need good players as well. It makes matches much more interesting.

64 man is not large its just to make sure everyone has his spot. I bet there were enough people who didn't get to play because it was full like the first or second day.
