StarCraft 2

Probably one of the single most important topics regarding the lore of Starcraft 2 was the revealing of a shoulder-bound shield on the left arm of the Terran Marine unit. Most of the players thought that this would "ruin the feel" of the unit, or that it just looked ugly. Recently, some of the players at Battle.net's official forums shared the same concerns as these gamers. On the subject matter, Blizzard said:

"At this time, the Marine will be appearing as the classic standalone unit, but with a defensive upgrade they will then wield the arm-mounted shields. Again, please keep in mind that this is a work in progress and nothing is final at this point."

Which raises the question: "Which will you choose: the look and feel of the old marine, or the functionality of a shoulder-upgrade even if it risks physical appearance and the 'old game feel'?". A lot of what drew gamers into such hype about Starcraft 2 was the ability to re-enter a world they had loved so much for so long. But now the two ideals: gameplay and lore, become thrust into conflict, as most believe one can't coexist with the other in a case like this.
