As reported by
Kotaku, the General Manager and 15-year veteran of
Visceral Games,
Steve Papoutsis, has resigned as of last week. The studio, which developed games such as
Dante's Inferno and the
Dead Space franchise was also responsible for the
Battlefield Hardline spin-off released in March and is currently working on an as-of-yet untitled
Star Wars IP game.
Following the above report, an
Electronic Arts representative confirmed the validity of the statement and mentioned that "We are thankful for Steve's many contributions to EA and wish him the best." The publisher immediately moved to fill in the vacant GM slot with senior company executive
Scott Probst, who himself has been a producer on many franchises
such as Command and Conquer and Medal of Honor, and of note is also the son of current EA Chairman,
Larry Probst.
Furthermore, "EA has reaffirmed that Visceral continues to work on content and support for Hardline" as can be seen by the recent leak and announcement that
Hardline will get the
Premium treatment and see
four expansion pack DLCs over the course of 2015 and 2016.
