About a few days ago,
Rockstar Game's official Twitter account tweeted a couple of images; first a picture of the company logo on a red backdrop and later a picture of a row of western era characters on the same background. Cue anticipation from the gaming press on what could be a possible tease for the announcement for a sequel to 2010's
Red Dead Redemption.
Then just recently, Rockstar
tweeted the following image which confirmed what basically everyone was expecting, which was an announcement and confirmation for
Red Dead Redemption 2.
As can be seen by the above image, Rockstar has penned the game down for a Fall 2017 release and if you were to
check out the game's site you can see at the bottom that it has been tentatively announced for both the
Xbox One and the
Playstation 4, which means support for current-generation consoles only.
As of now it looks like RDR2 will follow its predecessor and be only console-exclusive with no announcement for a PC version. Similarly, last-gen console gamers looking forward to getting their hands on the sequel to the epic western game would also be similarly dissappointed as there has been no announcment for any last-generation console support.
For those wanting more up to date news about the game be sure to subscribe to Rockstar's mailing list on the game's site at the above link. You can also pre-order the game from the same page, subject to availability in your region.
