Soulstorm

What have you done?! No Tyranids in the SS?

I see the announcement for soulstrom yay thinks I 'The mystery race will be the tyrannids' (organic warfare based aliens that look AWESOME) Today i found out it's going to be the sisters of gay! I mean what the hell there has been a massive fan base request for the nids, highlighted by the really popular mod that adds them as a faction to DC. How could Relic ignore this.

The game already has enough factions from the imperium namely SM and IG and it already has enough big bulky style factions (SM,Orks, Choas,). The Tyrannids would have been an excellent plot factor and a really cool refreshing race to play rather than the same old humanoid factions that we keep seeing. VeryFunny.gif

Am i the only person who's really pissed off with relics exclusion of the Tyrannids? I look forward to hearing peoples opinions on the matter.

Dude, dont forget, theres also a popular mod for the SoB's. And there would also have been fans who requested the SOB's. So probably there might have been more SoB requests compared to that of the tyranids.

should be, thats the only race left aside from the DH and WH, which are just factions of the space marines, shouldn't be any different from em.

If they do add the tyranids, theres gonna be something worse than the ZERG RUSH from SC/SC2(possibly) TYRUSH!

I think in response to the first post I have to use a line fron Ren and Stimpy:

"I told you I would do it, but you didn't believe me! WHY DIDN'T YOU BELIEVE ME?!"

That was Relic asking the question after telling us a while ago they wouldn't have the Tyranids in the game. I guess this time they were really telling the truth.

@BotBot: It's Relic, not blizzard.

Relic likes to ignore feedback from actual players how many people wish crons were nerfed before the 1.2 patch did relic listen? No.

Then look at blizzard, fans said seige tank looks like a box, they redid the thing, fans said soulhunters suck, they took it out.

Yea this is true, i mistyped because i was think about WOW at the time. But in my opinion relic make better games, Relic does listen though and they actively post on this website and take an interest it was probly in 1.2 that they Couldnt find a way to balance the necrons properly and needed more time to work on it, as one of the above posts said, i sure as hell hope they put the tryannids into DOW2! Though i would have really like to have seen them now! Cause when i look at the SoB i think, same old same old boring .... but if i see a carnifex rip a tank in two i think WOW AWESOME (stiffy) lolz . Anyway heres to hoping the nids come in DOW2.

Relic listens to their fans. The problem is that their fans all say different things. So they listen to the majority opinion which (if you looked at the poll) was Witch Hunters. So, they went with the majority and added the Sisters of Battle (which makes up most of the Witch Hunters). Its not a case of them not listening, its a case of listening to the majority, and you having a fit because you didn't get your way.

Listening to fan don't equal happy fans. In bfme2 there was a patch were almost every suggestion was considered and in the end you still have some pissed fans. There's always dow 2 for tyranids.

Actually I remember that patch since I worked on it. They had a fit because I forgot to post my replays so thus they went and didn't give me the medal for it (cheap jerks). Anyway, I thought that balance patch went good. I guess some of the nobodies wouldn't like it but the people who really liked playing the game loved it to death. Listening to fans does equal happy fans, but there will always be the group who wants to complain about it.

I never personally wanted tyranids in at all, they would be way too micro intense with the ammount of units to control and the squad number sizes.

SoB are a nice adition and although they are another imperium race, they do offer something different and are a very decorative army.

Okay... saying that I'm having a fit.... bit strong.

My main point here is that the SoBs are very similar to other factions already present in the game (Choas, SM, Orks) and they will probly play very similarly to other factions, I like what they have done with DE making so their Econ is based on battle, but my point is with the Tyrannids there would be completely different tactics involved using mass units combined with specialist ones rather that small squads of high powered ones as is already present in the game. I wasn't aware that more people wanted witch hunters, I think its cool relic are listening to their fans in that aspect, but from a game play point of view i think the Nids would have made things a lot more different and interesting as well as providing an interesting and powerful plot factor with their presence.

I guess its a matter of opinion as are most things.

BotBot, the engine IS the reason all the races are basically the same with a few minor differences between certain races. The uniqueness that you always talk about is the exact reason the engine wont handle them.
