Well the last one went off great, with 16 great 1.06 players fighting it out. Now it's time for another one.
Time/Date: This Saturday, 2-09-08 at 19:00 GMT (2PM Eastern, 1PM CST, Noon Mountain, 11AM Pacific)
Please post here or PM me if you are interested in playing (if you don't have the ability to post here or PM me. Alternatively you can simply show up early and ask if there are spots left open as I will be there about 20 minutes early.
Having your name in the list of "participants" below, will guarantee you a spot in the tourney, provided you show up on time. I will be making the bracket up at exactly19:05 GMT which will be composed of everyone who is interested in the "Off Topic" lobby at that time. There are always a few dropouts, so if you want to play, but we have already filled all the spots, just show up around 18:45 and message me that you want to be in the list of 16.
Style: Single elimination Map: FOI2 Patch: 1.06 (Official) Location: Off Topic Prize: Tourney medal, 50 GR gold, and the warm fuzzies of recognition.
- Show up in the "Off Topic Lobby" 10 minutes before scheduled game time. - Late more than 10 minutes for any game = loss (this includes "5 min brb") - Disconnect = loss - No rules on picking/random race, do what makes you feel good. - Save all replays - Top seed (randomly determined) will host first round, bottom host for the next round and so on. Finals will be best of 3 on a neutral host (mine or another agreed upon by both participants).

Updated. Remember, I am not trying to be a jerk about people being on time for the games, I am trying to make sure we respect the other players in the tourney. Therefore, if you really need to play, make sure to sign up in this thread, and show up early using the SAME NAME that you see listed above. Nothing confuses me more than 3 different people PMing me in game saying that they are someone that differs from the name I see in the PM. It makes my head spin.
Because I desire the retention of my nutz (Rico = married), I am only able to host 1 tourney/week. I am alternating them back and forth for the time being, until we get another tournament moderator.
Rico
PS if you are 1.06, download the patch and try your hand at BTDC. We had 8 extra spots last week.
No need for a standby list me thinks, just show up early if you find you are wanting to play. Last time we had no trouble filling all 16 spots, so I doubt I will need to hit up standbys. If there is significant interest again, I am flirting with the idea of having 32 person tourney. This size would have to be scheduled and the brackets mad ahead of time for sure. It would probably take several hours as well...
Edit: yikes, is this a double post? Merge please?
