The choice between choosing Industrial, Battlebase or Cabana was really hard. It was seen that Industrial was the lesser of the three evils in the end. laugh.gif

My main thing I'm wanting to ask is what do people think of the solution to the 3 player final? Would you have done it differently?

(Yes I know this wasn't the best way to do a 48 player bracket, but I wanted to spice up the finals.)

really nice! Good that it's bo3 in every round and a nice price. I dont really get why its for 48 players though, this way the finals are going to take ages tongue.gif (first I thought the finals would be ffa on pryoclastic, lol. that would be bad!)
Yea I think indus was the best choice, imo all 3 are a bit better for 1 race (indus a, bbb e, cabana s?) but indus easily got the best mapdesign and more options to win. BBB I never have a good game on, cabana allies just need to go all in and its either fail or turretlame your way to the win which is stupid too. Besides I guess that bigger maps (pyro & pool) arent too great for allies anyway, so its only fair that indus is in.
One thing, what's the reason that these tournaments always start around 15 gmt? I mean I can probably make it when I move dinner or so. Only reason to do this is to give asian players a chance to play, because americans and european players should be fine with moving this time a few hours earlier or later? And kel thuzad doesnt sleep before 7 am anyway xD so that should be fine too!

Thanks a lot GMdarkside and GR for sponsoring & hosting ;]

Its 1500 GMT, because its found to be one of the most suitable times overall, there were way more complaints in past tournaments and such when players were given any other time to play. So far this seems to be the most agreed slot (1400-1800) for the best times for everyone.

Haha.. Well I hope the text on the brackets is clear enough in the end for everyone. But well, by doing this, it gives the final 3 a pretty close ending to the tournament. Effectively, it just makes it a clear cut answer (by point totals) as to 1st/2nd/3rd.

Also, GMDarkside wanted an amount around 40 players, since for a sponsored tournament, 32 is a tad small, while 64 in general is something rather massive to handle. 48 is a decent size and can be effectively handled well, that and it was interesting choosing a solution to the brackets.

More then likely on Monday/Tuesday, depending on your locale. Its up early just so people know of its existance, and get that chance to sign up sooner.

luigi i don't get it why is 5PM that bad? i mean if you wanna finish it before dinner it should start at 1 pm or so, and thats just not doable for americans. and if you wanna start after dinner, 7pm or so (1700 gmt) its getting way to late for any australian/asian contestants.

also its only one meal, just throw a pizza in the magnetron and eat tongue.gif

Whenever I have something, I specifically have something I can chuck in the microwave for 2 minutes and chow down in another 2. Obviously its horrible for your health, but it works.
