Vs
Groni - Germany
Pros - Used your settlers well to get you to colonial quickly, didnt gather any unnessacery supplys and so on. - Went with the wood polotician and pop spammed, so u could focus your settlers else where. - Split your settlers wisely to get your FF quicker - Shipped your 8 X Bows, used them for basically all they're good for, pinning down settlers in the TC and scanning the map. - Went with the Skirm politician, Smart moved, they arrived just in time and saved your ass from loosing all your houses to the pike raid from maximus. - Managed your settlers well, both through economy and keeping them alive under pressure. - Some would say this was a con, i think it was a good choice by you, even though u lost nearly all of your Uhlan shipment in killing the falcs, if those two Falconets had made it to your base it would have been GG you there and then - Used your shipments extremely wisely and microed very well, having just lost alot of workers to Maximus's rush.... you relied soley on wise shipment choices while you boomed your eco the best you could. At this point i thought you were dead, but sneak attacks on the Falconets really paid off, Shipment choices were top at this point and it really saved your ass too, as you held Maximus back.. your army grew and eventually detered maximus, did not expect to see you pull through that -Shipped your landsknecht mercs and really used them well, they were the turning point in the game, again Excelent timing and choice.
Cons - Had some settlers idle at times during colonial, no big deal though. - Really cant see any other faults in your play during this rep... there were maybe things like the X bows could have been saved for a stronger shipment when u hit the fortress...... and maybe that would have saved yourself from the emense pressure in some way..... BUT those x bows did thier job at the end of the day and were used well, so cant really call things like that cons. - Maybe speed up early game =P
MaXiMuS_ - Spain
Pros - Used your Explorer well, got a few nice treasures, went with a 18 settler advance to colonial and split them wisely for the FF as you advanced. - Used gold shipments to get your FF quicker - Very Fast Fortress - Went with the pike polotician, didnt bother keeping them in your base to kill the xbows, sent them straight to Gronis base to attack houses and such, Sadly you were only able to take down 1 house at this point as Groni just hit the Fortress as you arived and made light work of them - Really kepth the pressure on through shipments and hit Groni hard after loosing most of your pikes, you soon followed up with lancers forceing him into his town centre, killing the skirm shipment and left the couple of pikes standing to take down a second house - Managed your settlers well keeping them both alive under pressure and on a resource front. - Really kept the pressure on Groni, barely eased up when the game looked your way. - Started to control the map well when you thought Groni was in no real position to, you bought back your Explorer and went for town centres on forward coin placements. A nice try but sadly you got caught out in the process. Cons - Failed to protect your falconets a few times - You shipped your highlanders just intime when Groni was mounting his attack, but really failed to micro them at all, those would have been very usefull, but you failed to pay any real atention to them - Focused wayyyyyy too much on Economy after you had been winning for all of the mid game, you must of thought that the game was in your hands easily and that Groni was a lost cause as you just boomed when you had Groni pinned and failed to keep up unit production, wise descisions by Groni lost you your main force and there was nothing left to follow except your base
Overall - Great game, stayed away from early mercs on both sides and really well played by both, pressure was constand and was barely one sided as it switched back and forth....... players made crucial decisions and it really paid off on some accounts, this was a really awesome game to watch and a must for anyone who hasnt already seen it 7/10
